Comparative Study of The Effects of Three Different Volumes and Concentrations of Levobupivacaine on The Block Characteristics in Upper Limb Surgeries Using Ultrasound-Guided Supraclavicular Block

Backgrounds and objectives: This an attempt to compare the effects of 15ml levobupivacaine 0.75%, 20 ml 0.375% 30ml 0.25% with fixed dosage (75mg) on block characteristics in upper limb surgeries using ultrasound guided supraclavicular block. Materials methods: Titled “Comparative study three different volumes concentrations Levobupivacaine block” performed Department Anaesthesiology, Chettinad Hospital Research Institute from March 2020 April 2021. Group A – 15mL 0.5%, B 20mL C 30mL Results: Onset Sensory block: observed that mean onset sensory was earlier 22±5.25 minutes comparison 29±6.42 37.5±6.17 which is significant. Motor It motor 33±6.57 when compared 36±6.87 44±7.67 Duration Analgesia: analgesia longer 19.25±2.52 hours having 15.5±1.88 12±1.94 respectively, Diaphragmatic involvement: diaphragmatic involvement 25.6±13.291% mL 33.76±9.76% 52.435±12.6% Conclusion:15mL 75mg has early blockade Prolonged Analgesia lesser 30mL.
